Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose
Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) is a non-ionic polymer available as a white to off-white powder. It is produced from cellulose, typically sourced from wood pulp or cotton linter, and modified through an etherification process using methyl chloride and propylene oxide. This chemical reaction transforms the natural cellulose into hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.
