Magnesium Stearate
Magnesium Stearate is a fine, white, hydrophobic powder composed of magnesium salts of stearic and palmitic acids. It is widely used as a pharmaceutical excipient, particularly as a lubricant and flow agent in tablet and capsule manufacturing. Produced through the reaction of sodium stearate with magnesium salts, it helps prevent ingredients from sticking to manufacturing equipment during compression. Magnesium stearate is also used in food, cosmetics, and supplement formulations.
